Locate the speedometer cable on the left hand side of front wheel of your bike or motorcycle.
With the help of screw driver, remove the screw by slowly rotating the screw driver in anti-clockwise direction till you remove the screw from barrel.
Slowly pull the cable out from the metallic barrel.
Locate the metallic cable inside the rubber hose of speedometer of your bike
With the help of cloth or by wearing gloves, slowly pull the metallic cable or wire out from the rubber hose jacket.(Image 1 of 2)

Clean the metallic cable at both the ends by cloth and then Inspect the condition of both the ends. The thickness of cable at the ends should be same and there shouldn't be any twist or break anywhere in the cable.
After inspection, apply grease at the ends and re-insert the cable inside rubber hose or jacket.
Put the rubber hose or cable inside the metallic barrel and tighten the screw by rotating it in clockwise direction.
Check the functionality of cable at your bike speedometer. If the problem still exists, there may be other reason which may related to cable, wiring etc. In that case or for any service related problem, it's advisable to contact Doers certfieid bike or car mechanic near you.
